Spring 2014 Wish List

As spring has (technically) arrived, I've been looking through lots of reviews of new product launches and have created quite the wish list. Here are a few of the things I hope to get my hands on this season.

NARS Blush in New Attitude

I love this color, it is such a nice bright light pink shade that I think will be absolutely perfect for spring! Something about it just makes me feel very flowery and springy.

Too Faced Bonjour Soleil Bronzer Collection
With spring here, that means summer is just around the corner so I need to get started on my tan haha. This bronzer looks like it would be a nice shade for someone with fair skin, and I like how there's more options for if I ever get a bit darker.... and really, who can resist anything that smells like chocolate?

Orchid is the color for spring, and I have always been really interested in these tints from benefit. The packaging is so adorable (as always with benefit) and I think this would be a really fun color to try out.

This is such a great classic spring lip color, and I have been wanting to try this lipgloss, so why not give it a go?

Sephora Collection Spring in Soho Palette

I think this is an absolutely gorgeous palette. There's a nice mix of neutral eyeshadows with wearable bright shades, and lip colors are such nice ones for the season.

Essie Spring 2014 Collection

I literally want the entire collection, all the colors are just so so so pretty. The pastel green and pink are such nice and sweet colors for Easter time, and the hot pinkish red and the shimmery azure blue are going to be lovely for the warmer spring months.

What new spring beauty products have you been eyeing?

Drugstore Make Up Haul

I stopped in really quickly at the drugstore to pick up a few things for a vacation, but then i saw that there were tons of sales going on and I just could't resist. I had been wanting to try a lot of these products and overall I am so happy that I went for them, despite my mom telling me I was going to go broke haha. Here are my thoughts on the things I bought!!

This is a very bright, slightly more orange neon coral color. I love the brushes on this nail polish, the only word I can think of to describe them is sturdy which is a weird way to describe a brush but that's okay. The brush makes nail polish application a lot easier (coming from someone who is awful at doing nails) and is a life saver for me. The formula of the polishes is nice, they dry pretty quickly and last for a decent amount of time without chipping. At $2.99, these nail polishes are definitely worth it, and I'm so excited to start wearing this color for spring and summer (if they ever come).

I have only had these for about 2 weeks, but I am already absolutely and irrevocably in love with them. These eyeliners are so pigmented, and they come in a remarkable amount of shades for drugstore eyeliner. They are really similar to the Urban Decay 24-7 Glide on Eye Pencil in formula but are a fraction of the price. These are the creamiest drugstore eyeliners I have ever purchased and rival, if not beat all of my high end eyeliners. They go on easily and smoothly, leaving time to blend before they set. They stay true to the claim of waterproof and do not budge, both on the top lid and bottom waterline. I find that if I line my upper waterline with these there is a bit of smudging onto my bottom lid, but it is very minimal. The colors are gorgeous, with the black being a really dark and matte color. The brown is dark enough to make your eyes pop but softer than the black for a lovely day look, with just slight gold shimmers in it for a really pretty effect. The nude is a great matte, and just apply lightly on the bottom waterline for an instant brightener on those tired mornings.  The only thing to be wary about with these eyeliners is that they need a really good sharpener. I tried my Wet and Wild sharpener on these and it practically wrecked them, but I salvaged them with my Grindhouse Urban Decay Sharpener. (Product swatched above)

This concealer is just amazing, especially for a drugstore concealer. It isn't cakey, it covers redness wonderfully and does a pretty nice job covering blemishes. It also does a great job covering up under eye circles. The formula is easy to blend, I accidentally picked up a shade too dark for me but have been using it to contour and it is really easy to work with. I really love this concealer, and it is perfect to use for that no makeup- makeup look.

Lip crayons seem to have gotten very popular recently, and I think for good reason. They are so easy to apply at home and on the go. Out of every drugstore brand that have done them, these are my favorite. The shade a purchased is a very pigmented light pink that is actually quite bright. When applied to lips these have a glossy finish and leave your lips so feeling very hydrated and soft. Because this is a balm stain the color lasts for ages, last time I wore it i literally had to scrub it off with make up remover wipes, though i have found that the glossiness tends to fade a bit. The balm has a nice minty scent to it, and is easy to twist up when you begin to run low on product. I don't love the packaging, honestly it isn't really the packaging it's more the font of the words, it just kind of annoys me for some reason. I feel like the font looks kind of cheap, but other than that the rest of the packaging is pretty nice. These are really great lip products and next time I'm at the drugstore I will definitely be picking up some more of the shades!! (Product swatched above)

Having heard and read a lot of good things about the Falsies line, I decided to pick one up. My eyelashes are long and so straight that they practically go downwards, I need as much help with curling as I can get, so I chose the flared version. The wand is pretty big, about the size of my eye, and is bendy and slightly curved. While I wouldn't say this is the most volumizing mascara, it does make your lashes look more voluminous after a few coats, and it does a really nice job lengthening and curling. The formula is not clumpy which I love as clumpy lashes are one of my pet peeves, and I do not find that it smudges, but I also do not have very oily skin. The only big downside to this mascara is that I find it has a very weird smell. To me it smells kind of plastic gone wrong and slightly toxic. While this is annoying it goes away completely after less than a minute of applying. If you want a mascara that is lengthening and curling, and also holds the curl, this is a great choice, but in my opinion there are a lot of mascaras that are much more volumizing. On the whole I like this mascara, especially because it curls my lashes really well even without using a curler, and I find that it makes my lashes look generally a lot nicer.

So as you can probably tell I had a pretty successful haul, and basically liked everything I purchased which is pretty rare for me. I would recommend all of these products, and I think they are all stand out drugstore items. Comment with some of your favorite drugstore makeup, I love getting suggestions!

Happy first day of spring (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

With Love From Lindsey

Hi!! ٩(^ᴗ^)۶ Just a quick little introduction before I start really posting. My name is Lindsey and I've been slightly obsessed with make up pretty much since I found out what it was. Ever since getting my hands on it, one of my favorite things to do has been to just sit in front of my mirror and really play around with different techniques and looks. I recently began watching beauty youtubers and reading blogs, and I've fell in love with the whole idea of sharing thoughts this way. I have been wanting to start this blog for awhile and have finally gotten around to it, so hopefully you guys will like it!! I'm going to try and post a couple of times a week on all things beauty and fashion, and just some random thoughts I have. I'm still kind of learning about make up and am quite new to blogging, so all tips are appreciated :) Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoy my blog.
